Here are some answers to questions we
are often asked about picture probe. If you have any
questions not on the list, we suggest you just download
it and give it a try. Alternatively, feel free to
contact us.
Q. Are linux, Macintosh or PocketPC
versions of Picture Probe available?
A. Not yet, but
we are considering them in the near future if there
is enough interest.
Q. Does Picture
Probe store or transmit any data about my activities?
A. No, Picture Probe keeps no records
and sends no information about you over the net.
Q. Is Picture Probe a file sharing
program like napster or kazaa?
A. No, Picture Probe
is not a peer-to-peer file sharing program. Instead
of file sharing, Picture Probe uses advanced web search
algorithms to locate image files on the internet and
determine their content. An added benefit of this system
is that because nobody ever downloads files from your
computer, your bandwidth consumption is reduced and
your system security is not in any way jeopardized.
Q. Does Picture Probe filter out adult
content?
A. By default, Picture Probe does not
filter out any "offensive" content. It does
feature this option in its preferences settings however,
for those users that want it.
Q. Does Picture Probe contain advertising
or spyware?
A. No, we'll say it again: Picture Probe
contains no advertising and absolutely no
spyware! The only thing you get when you install
Picture Probe is Picture Probe, no "special offers",
"internet assistants", "desktop buddies"
or other such annoying distractions.
